Changes coming to your Rogers Device Protection

In the upcoming months, there will be some changes to the Premium Device Protection™ and Device Protection Lite programs.

Rest assured, your Rogers device protection plan continues to offer great protection with many benefits such as flexible repair options, fast service, first phone screen repair on us (Premium Device Protection only), and more.

Choose your current plan, and device manufacturer if applicable, below to see what’s changing.

  1. On the date provided on your Rogers bill message, you will be migrated to our new Premium Device Protection Plans. If you have an Apple device enrolled, your new plan will be Premium Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services. If you have an Android device enrolled, your new plan will be Premium Device Protection for Android.
  2. As of the date noted in your bill message, our Device Protection plans will be connected to the enrolled device and not the SIM card. If you switch your SIM card to a new device after that date, the new device will not be protected, and the device that’s enrolled will continue to be protected.
  3. If you change or upgrade your device, you must remove device protection off of your previous device and re-enroll in device protection for your new device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I am enrolled in Premium Device Protection or Device Protection Lite. Why is my program changing and how will I be impacted?

If you enrolled in Premium Device Protection or Device Protection Lite prior to May 5th there will be some changes to your program. These changes are being made to help keep you connected and deliver reliable, worry-free device protection. Rest assured your device protection plan will continue to offer the same great protection with many benefits such as flexible repair options, fast service and more. For a detailed summary of what is changing please refer to the section above which outlines the specific changes depending on which program you were previously enrolled in.

Why is the price of my Premium Device Protection plan changing?

To help keep you connected and deliver reliable, worry-free device protection that is more accessible for customers, we evaluate our program from time to time and have made some changes to our Premium Device Protection program, including the overall pricing structure. Currently all customers pay the same price regardless of the cost of their device. In the new structure the price of device protection will depend on the cost of your device. As a result, some customers may see an increase in their monthly price while others may see a decrease or no change. In addition to this change the program provides:
✓ 1st phone screen break repair free
✓ Replacements for lost/stolen devices (excludes Apple Watch and QC customers)
     ✓ Repairs for accidental damage
✓ Repairs that are manufacturer certified with genuine parts
✓ Simple processing fee of $39 for screen repair and $129 for all other repairs
     ✓ No filing deadline
✓ Coverage is based on the enrolled device

I don’t recall receiving any notice of these changes. How are these changes being communicated to customers?

These program changes are being communicated to customers through a bill message starting July 20th. If you are impacted, you will receive a bill message on your first wireless bill after July 20th.

When will the program changes take place and is there anything I need to do?

The bill message you receive informing you of the program changes will also include the date when the changes will take place. Rest assured that there is no action you need to take as these program changes will automatically take place on the date specified in your bill message.

The bill notification I received regarding the program changes says the device protected is a different device than the one I am using. How do I get it changed?

In order to have this changed please follow the steps below:
  1. Make note of your IMEI, you can find it by entering *#06# on your phone’s keypad and the number will be displayed on screen. Otherwise, the 15/16 digit number is usually displayed in the battery compartment (not all batteries are accessible), on the box the device came in or on the receipt.
    • For Apple devices – Select “Settings” > “General” > “About”.
    • For Android devices – Select “Settings” and “About phone” or “About tablet”.
  2. Log in by clicking “My Plan” above and then sign in to your account. Go to the “Devices” tab.

    • For Apple devices – Select “Settings” > “General” > “About”.
    • For Android devices – Select “Settings” and “About phone” or “About tablet”.
