When you file a Service Request, you may be provided the following options based on your location, device, and failure:

  WALK IN: Take your device to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for repair.

  MAIL IN: Mail your device to us for repair.

  LOSS/THEFT REPLACEMENT: Replace your device with an Apple certified replacement of the same make, model, colour and memory.

Protection includes loss, theft, accidental damage from handling, and extended warranty (after the original manufacturer’s warranty expires). Plus, your first phone screen break repair will have a $0 Processing Fee if no other damage is present.

You are eligible to receive up to three fulfilled Service Requests in any rolling 12-month period, two of which may be for accidental damage from handling or extended warranty and one of which may be for loss/theft, beginning on the date of your first Service Request. How much does it cost?

A Monthly Service Fee/Premium ranging from $7.99 to $21.99 depending on your device tier will appear on your Fido bill.

Please note that a Processing Fee/Deductible is also required when your Service Request/Claim is approved. Repair Processing Fees/Deductibles range from $39.00 to $129.00 depending on your device and damage type.

Loss and theft Processing Fee/Deductible range from $150.00 to $400.00 depending on your device tier. Loss and theft protection is not available for Apple Watch.

What is included in the first screen repair?

All Device Protection Plan customers are entitled to one phone screen repair at no extra cost, if there is no other damage present. Phone screen repair is limited to cracks and breaks in the front glass of the phone screen. For Android, the screen repair counts towards your limit of two fulfilled accidental damage from handling Service Requests/Claims in any rolling 12-month period. For Apple devices there are unlimited screen repairs for Accidental Damage due to Handling.

Note: Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services customers who have an iPhone models 12 and newer (excluding iPhone SE) enrolled have an added benefit. Effective December 13, 2021, screen repair for iPhone models 12 and newer (excluding iPhone SE) refers to the front or back glass (for all other models, back glass repair is not considered to be screen repair and the iPhone Damage Repair Processing Fee/Deductible of $129 applies). For iPhone models 12 and newer: (a) if the service request/claim is for both front and back glass breakage repair, the processing fee/deductible is $78 ($39 per repair); (b) if these are separate service requests/claims, each repair has a $39 processing fee/deductible; and (c) the first screen repair at no extra cost is applicable to one glass repair - front or back.

Are there other fees I should know about?

Additional fees you may be subject to are: Non-Return Fee, Locked Device Fee, and Service Request/Claim Conversion Fee.
If your original equipment is not received within thirty (30) days, you will be charged a Non-Return Equipment Fee of up to $800.00 depending on your device tier.
If your protected device is returned with the locking feature enabled, you will be charged a Locked Device Fee of up to $800.00 depending on your device tier.
The Service Request/Claim Conversion Fee is the difference between the phone screen repair fee and the all other damage fee (or extended warranty repair fee for Device Protection for Android plan), in instances where there is additional damage beyond screen damage.

What does my Device Protection protect?

Fido Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services provides protection for loss, theft, accidental damage from handling (including liquid damage), and warranty malfunction.

Theft and lost coverage for iPhone requires you to have Find My iPhone enabled on your iPhone at the time it is lost or stolen. Find My iPhone should remain enabled and your iPhone should remain associated with your Apple ID throughout the theft or lost claim process.

You must have activated the standard tracking application provided or available on Your Protected Device, keep it activated for the duration of the term of this contract, and validate proof of your identity through your online account at the time you make a claim to be and remain eligible for this Device Protection Plan.

What does ‘IMEI-based protection’ mean?

IMEI-based protection means that only the device with the IMEI enrolled at the time of activation and which we have on file is protected. If you change or upgrade your device, you must re-enroll in device protection. If you switch your SIM card to a different device, that device is NOT protected.

When do I file a Service Request/Claim?

There is no time limit to file a Service Request/Claim. You can file a Service Request/Claim at any time as long as you were enrolled in the plan at the time the device failure occurred. Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Quebec customers must file a loss or theft claim within 60 days of the loss.

For Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services file a Service Request/Claim if your device is lost, stolen, accidentally damaged or experiences an electrical or mechanical malfunction. If your device is lost or stolen, you must file the Service Request/Claim within 60 days of the loss or theft.

For Device Protection for Android file a Service Request/Claim if your device is lost, stolen, accidentally damaged or experiences an electrical or mechanical malfunction (after the expiration of the manufacturer’s warranty period). If your device is lost or stolen, you must file the Claim within 60 days of the loss or theft.

For Device Protection for Android, your manufacturer's warranty (in-warranty) is provided by your device manufacturer and is generally valid for 12-months from the date of purchase. Electrical or mechanical malfunctions in these first 12-months that are no cause of your own are generally covered by your manufacturer’s warranty. Details can be found in your original packaging.

How do I file a Service Request/Claim?

How long do I have to complete a Service Request/Claim?

Once you file a Service Request/Claim, you have 60 days to complete the process. This includes paying any applicable Processing Fee/Deductible, providing any information or documentation requested and providing your device for repair.

What do I do if I have issues uploading my documentation to My Plan?

If you are experiencing issues uploading your service request/claim statutory declaration or other requested documents, you can email them to documents@likewize.com or you can send by mail to Likewize Device Protection, LLC Attn: Asset Protection, 1900 W Kirkwood Blvd, Suite 1600C, Southlake, TX, 76092, USA. Requested documentation sent by mail or email may delay the processing of your service request/claim.

If my device is replaced or repaired, am I protected for the new device?

Your replaced or repaired device is still protected as long as you are enrolled in a Device Protection plan.

Device Protection for Android
Replacements and repaired devices come with a 12-month warranty. In the event that the repaired device or your replacement device fails to function due to any defects in parts or workmanship during this 12-month warranty period, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you. Such service will not be charged against your annual service limit. Simply return to the repair shop or go online to file your repair warranty service request/claim.

Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services
Your warranty continues on your replacement or repaired device for as long as you are enrolled in the plan. If you exit the plan, new replacement devices come with a 12-month warranty and Apple certified pre-owned devices come with a 90-day warranty. If you experience any problems with your replaced or repaired device, all 1-800-263-3394 to speak directly to an AppleCare Advisor.

How many Service Requests/Claims am I allowed?

You are eligible to receive unlimited accidental damage from handling and warranty malfunction Service Requests/Claims. You are also eligible for one loss or theft Service Request/Claim in any rolling 12-month period. Each Service Request/Claim is subject to a maximum value of $3,000.00, inclusive of protected accessories, depending on your device tier.

Device Protection for Android
You can receive up to 3 fulfilled Service Requests/Claims in any rolling 12-month period, two of which may be for accidental damage from handling and extended warranty and one of which may be for loss/theft, beginning on the date of your first Service Request/Claim. If you reach your limit within any 12-months, the Device Protection for Android will be cancelled by Fido. Each Service Request/Claim is subject to a maximum value of $3,000.00, inclusive of protected accessories, depending on your device tier.

Will I get the same device for an approved loss or theft Service Request/Claim?

Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services
Your device will be replaced with an Apple certified device of the same make, model, colour and memory. Your warranty continues on your replacement device for as long as you are enrolled in the plan. If you exit the plan, new replacement devices come with a 12-month warranty and Apple certified pre-owned devices come with a 90-day warranty.

Device Protection for Android
Your device will be replaced with a wireless device of like kind and quality with comparable features and functionality and may be new or reconditioned. Your replacement device will have a 12-month replacement warranty.

What is protected in my province?

For Device Protection for Apple featuring AppleCare Services customers, iPhone and iPad devices are protected for loss, theft, accidental damage from handling and warranty malfunction. In Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Québec*, Prince Edward Island, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador.

In Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the plan is a combined insurance policy and service contract offering. The insurance policy is underwritten by AIG Insurance Company of Canada and provides loss, theft, and accidental damage from handling protection, while the service contract provides warranty malfunction protection.

For Device Protection for Android customers, devices are protected for loss, theft, accidental damage from handling and extended warranty malfunction (after the original manufacturer’s warranty expires) in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Québec*, Prince Edward Island, Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador.

In Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the Plan is a combined insurance policy and service contract offering. The insurance policy is underwritten by AIG Insurance Company of Canada and provides loss, theft, and accidental damage from handling protection, while the service contract provides extended warranty malfunction protection (after the original manufacturer’s warranty expires).

* Loss and Theft is covered in Quebec only for enrollments occurring July 26, 2023 and after.

In Quebec, who provides the protection coverage for customers enrolled on or after July 26, 2023?

In Quebec, the program is an insurance offering, and coverage for each plan is underwritten by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch) pursuant to an insurance policy. The insurance policy is a contract between you and Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch) and not Likewize or Fido.

When can I enroll?

Our enrollment process is quick and painless. Simply sign up when you buy your new device and your protection will start immediately.

Need a little time to think it over? Enrollment is available for 60 days after you purchase your device, so be sure to act quickly! Protection will begin immediately. Please note that your device must be fully operational and undamaged at the time of program enrollment in order to enroll.

Am I required to pay a Processing Fee/Deductible before I get my device repaired or replaced?

Yes. You are required to pay a non-refundable Processing Fee/Deductible for each approved Service Request/Claim. Please note that prepaid credit cards cannot be used to pay your Processing Fee/Deductible.

How will I be billed for my Monthly Service Fee/Monthly Premium?

Monthly: Your Monthly Service Fee/Monthly Premium will be added to your monthly Fido bill.

How do I cancel?

You may cancel your enrollment at any time by contacting Fido. In Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, please see your insurance policy in the Resources section for more information on cancellation.

What should I do with my damaged device?

If you receive a replacement device due to an approved accidental damage from handling or malfunction Service Request/Claim, you’ll need to return your broken device to Likewize or Apple depending on who provided it. Shipping instructions and packing materials for returning the damaged equipment will be included with the replacement device. Be sure to act quickly! Failure to do so within 30 days may result in a non-return equipment fee of up to the No Term Price/MSRP of the device at time of enrollment, plus applicable taxes.

What can I do online?

Lots! You can check your Monthly Service Fee/Monthly Premium and Processing Fees/Deductibles, review your plan documents, start a Service Request/Claim, and track it from start to finish. Simply go to My Plan and log in.

Questions About Device Repair

What determines which fulfillment options are offered?

Your location, device model, type of damage, and repair or replacement part availability can influence your repair choices. For example, brand new models may not be available for repair right away, and certain types of damage such as liquid damage are not eligible for repair.

Can I go to any phone repair location?

To ensure quality, all repairs must be completed through one of Likewize’s or partners or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. When you complete your Service Request/Claim you will be presented with repair partners in your area.

What if there’s not a repair location near me, but I don’t want to replace my device?

Don’t worry, we have repair partners who accept devices via mail. We will send you a prepaid label, all you need to do is package your device and drop it in a Canada Post mail box. It will be repaired within 3-5 business days and returned to you via next business day delivery

What happens if the repair provider cannot fix my device?

If your device is unrepairable you will receive a replacement.

What happens if I have an issue with my device after repair?

Device Protection for Android
All repair work is guaranteed for 12-months by our partners. In the event that the repaired device or your replacement device fails to function due to any defects in parts or workmanship during this 12-month warranty period, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you. Such service will not be charged against your annual service limit. If you experience any problems with your replaced or repaired device, simply return to the repair shop or go online to file your repair warranty Service Request/Claim.

    The Device Protection Plans are a repair and replacement service provided to the customers of Fido. The Device Protection Lite Plans are a repair service provided to the customers of Fido. The service contract is provided by Fido. In Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Device Protection is a combined insurance policy and service contract offering. For Device Protection Plans, the insurance policy is underwritten by AIG Insurance Company of Canada and provides loss, theft, and damage protection, while the service contract provides warranty malfunction and/or extended warranty protection. For Device Protection Lite Plans, the insurance policy is underwritten by AIG Insurance Company of Canada and provides damage protection, while the service contract provides warranty malfunction and/or extended warranty protection.
