Enrolling in Purchase Protection Plan Plus is easy! Simply sign up online when you purchase your phone. Need a little time to think it over? You can enroll within 30 days from the date of purchase. Please note that your phone must be fully operational at the time of plan enrollment.

Essential Coverage Starting at $5 a Month

Coverage starts at only $5 per month depending on the retail price of your device at the time of purchase and includes accidental damage from handling (including liquid damage), and electrical and mechanical malfunction after the manufacturer's warranty expires.

Affordable Repair Deductibles Ranging from $50 to $100

A deductible is required for each approved claim. Repair deductibles range from $50 to $100 and replacement deductibles range from $50 to $150 depending on the the retail price of your phone. For full pricing, see the cost table below.

2 Claims Allowed Per 12-Month Period

You are allowed up to 2 approved claims in any rolling 12-month period beginning with the date of your first approved claim. A deductible also applies for each approved claim.

Is the Purchase Protection Plan Plus insurance?

Yes, the plan is an insurance offering. Policies are underwritten by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch), and administered by Likewize Device Protection, Ltd. In Alberta, policies are arranged for by Paisley Partners Inc. In Manitoba and Saskatchewan, policies are arranged for by Likewize Device Protection, Ltd. Claims are handled by Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.

Why is my personal information collected and how is It protected?

Your personal information Is collected with your consent during plan enrollment and at the time of a claim in order to provide the services needed to administer the policy and adjudicate claims on behalf of the underwriter, Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch). Your personal information may be used and disclosed among Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Canadian Branch), Paisley Partners Inc., Likewize Device Protection, Ltd., the Warranty Division of London Drugs, and Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc., and their authorized representatives, and will be stored in accordance with applicable law. Your personal information may be communicated, processed, and/or stored outside of the jurisdiction it was collected.

Who is Likewize Device Protection?

Likewize Device Protection, Ltd. is the administrator of the plan. Likewize handles enrollment, billing, and claims processing. Learn more about Likewize.

How much does it cost?

You will pay a low monthly premium between $5.00 and $10.00 depending on the retail price of your phone at time of enrollment.

Are there other fees I should know about?

Other fees you may be subject to are a Non-Return Equipment Fee if you fail to return your damaged or malfunctioning phone, or a Locked Device Fee if you return your phone locked, up to the amount of the unsubsidized, new retail price of the enrolled phone at the time of enrollment. A No Trouble Found Fee of $50 may be charged if you are approved for a claim and no trouble is found with the phone that is returned or provided for repair. A Claim Conversion Fee will be charged if you pay the repair deductible and the phone is unrepairable and you choose to have it replaced. The Claim Conversion Fee is the difference between the repair deductible and the replacement deductible. See the cost table above for these fees.

Will I be charged tax on this plan?

All plan costs, fees, and charges are subject to applicable taxes.

When do I file a claim?

If your phone suffers accidental damage from handling, or an electrical or mechanical malfunction after the manufacturer's warranty expires, you may file a claim. A claim must be filed within 60 days of the incident.

A manufacturer's warranty is provided by your phone manufacturer and is generally valid for 12 months from the date of initial purchase. Electrical or mechanical malfunctions in the first 12 months are generally covered by your manufacturer’s warranty. Details about your warranty can be found in your phone’s original packaging.

How do I file a claim?

You have the following options for filing a claim:
  • Click "START A CLAIM" in the menu above
  • Call 1-800-585-1739
  • Visit the Tech Services area of a London Drugs store for assistance from an associate
  • Claims must be filed within 60 days from the failure date
  • You must complete the claim process within 60 days from the claim filing date, which includes providing any documentation requested to support the claim and paying the deductible
Note: While most claims are approved, there are exceptions. Claims may be denied due to fraud or misrepresentation. Claims can also be denied if an exclusion or limitation applies.

How do I find my phone’s IMEI?

To find your phone’s IMEI, simply dial *#06# on your phone’s keypad and it will show your device identification information including your IMEI. It’s also located on your phone’s original packaging.

If I receive a replacement phone as the result of an approved claim, am I insured for the new phone?

Unless you have reached your maximum claim limit, your replacement phone becomes your insured device, and your coverage continues until you cancel. Your replacement phone also comes with a 90-day warranty against any defects in parts or workmanship.

What does my plan cover?

How many claims am I allowed?

You are allowed 2 approved claims in any rolling 12-month period beginning with the date of your first approved claim.

When can I enroll?

The enrollment process is quick and painless. Simply sign up when you buy your new phone. If you need more time to decide, you will have 30 days from the date of purchase to enroll.

If my phone is replaced, will I get the same phone for an approved claim?

Replacements may be new, refurbished or remanufactured. While refurbished equipment looks and functions just like new, it may have minor cosmetic flaws and may contain original or, in some instances, non-original manufacturer parts and accessories. If the exact make and model is not available, your replacement will be of like kind and quality, or better, and may be a different colour.

Am I required to pay a deductible?

Yes. You are required to pay a deductible for each approved claim. See the Cost Overview for plan pricing.

How will I be billed?

Your premium will be billed monthly by Likewize to the credit card provided when you enrolled. You can change your payment method at any time by logging into Your Plan.

How do I cancel coverage?

The coverage may be cancelled at any time and for any reason by contacting Likewize at 1-800-585-1739. You may receive a prorated refund in accordance with applicable law.

What should I do with my damaged phone?

If your phone was accidentally damaged or experiences an out of warranty malfunction and it can't be repaired, Likewize will provide a replacement. You’ll need to ship your damaged phone to Likewize. Shipping instructions and a pre-paid shipping label will be included with the replacement phone Likewize sends you. Be sure to act quickly! Failure to do so within 10 days may result in a Non-Returned Equipment Fee of up to the full retail price of your phone. See the insurance policy for details.

What determines which repair options are offered?

Once your claim is approved, you will be offered appropriate repair options, including London Drugs store locations, based on your phone model, type of damage, and location.

Can I go to any phone repair location?

To ensure quality, all repairs must be completed through a London Drugs store or a Likewize authorized repair location. When your claim is approved, you will be presented with authorized repair partners in your area.

What if there isn't a repair location near me, but I don’t want to replace my phone?

Don’t worry, Likewize works with authorized repair partners who accept phones via mail. Likewize will send you a prepaid label. Just package your phone and drop it in the appropriate mailbox or receptacle. It'll be repaired and returned to you.

What happens if the repair provider cannot fix my phone?

In situations where a repair is not possible, your phone may be replaced. In these instances, a replacement will be shipped to you. In most cases, you’ll have to pay a claim conversion fee which is the difference between the repair deductible paid and the replacement deductible.

If a replacement is not available, you will be mailed a check for the replacement value of the phone.

What happens if I have an issue with my phone after repair?

All repairs performed come with a 90-day limited warranty. In the event that the repaired phone fails to function due to any defects in parts or workmanship during the 90-day warranty period, the phone will be repaired again at no cost to you. Such service will not be charged against your annual claim limit.
