What does the Likewize Protection Plan with Accidental Damage from Handling cover?
Coverage includes Extended Warranty, Power Surge and, if purchased, protection against Accidental Damage from Handling (including liquid damage).*

Extended Warranty Coverage for Mechanical or Electrical Malfunction:
  • Year 1 - Covered by the manufacturer's warranty for the first year.
  • Years 2-3 - Covered by Likewize Product Protection for years two and three.
* These are the categories where Accidental Damage from Handling is applicable:
  • Laptops/Notebook
  • Smartphones
  • Tablets/iPads
  • Consumer Electronics excluding Ebikes, furniture and TVs
How much does it cost?

Likewize Protection Plans are Paid-Up-Front, therefore, the fee/premium you paid should be on the receipt you received at the time of enrollment.

Will I be charged tax on this plan?

All plan costs, fees, and charges are subject to applicable taxes.

Do I have to pay a deductible after my Service Request/Claim is approved?

No. There is no deductible for the Likewize Protection Plan after an approval of a service request/claim.

What coverage is available and when does my coverage start?
If you purchased a Likewize Protection Plan with Accidental Damage from Handling coverage, the plan begins on the date of purchase. If you purchased a Likewize Protection Plan without Accidental Damage from Handling, coverage begins after the manufacturer’s warranty period ends. Power surge protection begins on date of purchase for both plan types.
How will I know if my covered equipment was damaged by a power surge?

Typically, devices exposed to a power surge will not turn on or boot up. If your home or office recently lost power (i.e After a strong thunderstorm with lightning) then a power surge may have occurred when power was restored.  The Likewize Customer Care team will help you complete your service request/claim if you need assistance.

What does the Likewize Protection Plan with Extended Warranty cover?

If your device/equipment experiences an electrical or mechanical malfunction Likewize Protection Plan, has you covered after the 1-year manufacturer’s warranty has expired. You will have the option to select coverage up to year 3 after the manufacturer’s warranty expiration.

How do I submit a Service Request/Claim?

What are your hours of operation?

Our Service Request/Claims and Customer Care departments are open seven days a week, 7AM to 12PM (EST). Standard holiday schedules.

When should I contact Likewize vs the manufacturer?

Great question! If you purchased a Likewize Protection Plan with accidental damage, contact Likewize online at protect.likewize.com/newegg or by phone at (877) 680-0272 anytime during the coverage period. For mechanical or electrical failure, contact the manufacturer while you are still under the manufacturer warranty. After the manufacturer warranty period ends, contact Likewize.

What happens after my Service Request/Claim is approved?

If you reside in the United States, upon approval of your service request/claim, you will be provided with a reimbursement via a gift card based on the market value of the damaged/malfunctioning product at the time of service request/claim submission.

If you reside in Canada, once your service request/claim is approved, you will receive a reimbursement in the form of a cheque based on the market value of the damaged/malfunctioning product at the time of service request/claim submission.

Do I need to save my receipts to file a Service Request/claim?

No, your Likewize Protection Plan is already registered when you complete your purchase with Newegg.

How will I be charged?

The Likewize Protection Plan is a Paid-Up-Front program. You will pay a designated fee/premium based on the value of the product purchased through Newegg.com.

There is no monthly fee/premium.

Is there a Service Request/Claim limit on this program?

The service request/claim limit will be based on the value of the product purchased, as set out in your contract or insurance policy (if you are a resident of Saskatchewan or Manitoba).

What’s not protected?

While our plan covers an impressive range of incidents, there are a few exceptions including loss, theft, normal wear and tear or preexisting damage. Major appliances are not covered currently. Other exclusions may apply. Please refer to your plan’s terms and conditions or insurance policy (if you are a resident of Saskatchewan or Manitoba) for all the details and give us a call at 1-877-680-0272 if you have any questions.

Can I cancel my Likewize Protection Plan?

You can cancel at any time. In the first 30 days, contact Newegg customer service at (800) 390-1119 and you will receive a full refund. After 30 days contact Likewize Customer Care at (877) 680-0272 to cancel your plan. Your refund will be prorated minus any service requests/claims expenses paid.

What happens if I return my product to Newegg?

If you return your product within 30 days from purchase, Newegg will automatically refund the Likewize Protection Plan fee/premium back to the original method of payment you used at time of purchase.
